Another fabulous Taste of Dorchester is in the books. Twenty-three Dorchester restaurants, over 40 sponsors and nearly 600 guests flowed into the IBEW Local 103 hall on Thursday, April 26th to enjoy some great food, listen to live jazz from Sleeping Bee, and be amazed by the magic of illusionist Darren Yong.
And while they were doing that, everyone helped MAHA raise over $153,000 to support MAHA's homebuyer education programs and to close the racial homeownership gap in Massachusetts. While the event is over, the fundraising continues. You can donate to MAHA by texting MAHA to 707070 on your mobile device. Help us go over $155,000.
Taste of Dorchester celebrates the diversity of MAHA's home neighborhood and the diversity of its restaurant scene. Taste of Dorchester guests obviously agreed and were able to vote for their favorite dishes from participating restaurants. Bred Gourmet received the Overall Fan Favorite award for the much-talked about pulled pork sliders. Other restaurants in the Fav Five were Shanti Indian Cuisine, Natif Natal, Bahn Mi Ba Le, Oasis Vegan Veggie Parlor and Sweet Life Bakery & Cafe.
