Roxbury – July 18, 2019 - Over 1,000 first-time homebuyers and friends packed the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury on Thursday evening for an exciting announcement of a new affordable mortgage program for Boston residents and continue MAHA's Expand the Pie campaign for more resources for affordable housing.
On Tuesday June 12th, MAHA members will rally in support of six great ideas that will help create more affordable homeownership opportunities for Boston residents. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend the meeting, starting at 6pm, at the Boston Teachers Union hall, 180 Mt. Vernon Street in Dorchester. Last November, Boston residents voted overwhelingly to pass the Community Preservation Act in a campaign led by Yes for a Better Boston and MAHA. Now, the city prepares to spend $20 million on affordable housing, parks, and historic preservation. But first, a committee of nine Boston residents will be appointed to recommend CPA spending. And you can apply from now through November 9th to be on that committee.
