MAHA increases access to affordable and sustainable homeownership by providing first-time and first-generation homebuyers with education, financial support, and community organizing. We empower potential homebuyers with the knowledge necessary to navigate the home buying process and advocate for the resources our community needs in both the public and private sectors.

A Groundbreaking Savings Program

Join MAHA's STASH First-Gen Home Program

MAHA’s STASH First-Gen Home is a groundbreaking matched savings program for first-generation, first-time homebuyers in Massachusetts. This program focuses on essential financial literacy topics, equipping graduates with the confidence, knowledge, and resources to make informed decisions about buying their first home

Qualifications to participate:

  • Be a first-generation homebuyer
  • Graduate from MAHA's or another CHAPA-approved first-time homebuyer class
  • Earn 100% or less of the area median income for your household size and county
  • Have a minimum household income of $45,000 per year
  • Be mortgage-ready, with a minimum credit score of 640, fewer than two adverse credit issues, and savings of $3,000 to $75,000
