Borrowing Trouble
We get asked a lot whether or not anyone saw the subprime crisis coming. This series of reports from 2001-2007 proves that the warning signs were all around us much before most regulators and policymakers started paying attention.
Reports:
Borrowing Trouble VII
Borrowing Trouble VI
Borrowing Trouble V
Borrowing Trouble IV

The Paying More for the American Dream series is a collaborative effort of MAHA, California Reinvestment Coalition, Community Reinvestment Association of North Carolina, Empire Justice Center, Neighborhood Economic Development Advocacy Project, Ohio Fair Lending Coalition, and Woodstock Institute. The reports examine systematic inequalities in the housing finance system and their impact on lower-income neighborhoods and communities of color.
