MAHA's COVID-19 Response

April 29, 2020 - MAHA's team has been active over the last six weeks responding to the COVID-19 emergency - safely from home but active nonetheless. We would like to update you on a few matters.

If you are worried about paying your mortgage, we have your back. MAHA released a five point plan for Massachusetts lenders on March 26th and we have been working closely with the city of Boston, Massachusetts Housing Partnership, and area lenders. If you have a SoftSecond or ONE Mortgage loan, please call your lender if you are experiencing a hardship or call Michelle at MAHA at 857 293-0962 via email at mcrockett@mahahome.org. Boston Mayor Marty Walsh has announced agreement with fifteen lenders around mortgage deferrals and Governor Charlie Baker signed strong legislation that prevents evictions and foreclosures as well as requires lenders to offer mortgage deferrals of up to six months.

If you are interested in taking a class with us, we have a full schedule for our virtual classroom via Zoom in April, May and June. Check out our upcoming class schedule for Homebuying 101, Homeowner 202, or Condo Owner 202.

April 1st was Census Day but we know that many of you have not filled out the 2020 Census form yet. It takes less than 10 minutes and is the perfect safe at home activity!

Stay safe. Stay home.
